"Dead of Winter" in San Diego

Don't know where this will lead...I guess I now have a blog.

Been doing a lot of work with bulbs esp. those that will return year after year here in San Diego. Love bulbs. They grow with so much energy and look so good even if for a short time. They usually require little if any care as long as they are situated in the right location. They survive on neglect most of all!

The Pacific Tree Frogs have been singing stronger and stronger through the nights. They usually don't mind me even if I walk through the yard with my headlamp on.

Still getting an occaisional Alpine strawberry...yummy!

Dorsett apple just lost most of its leaves and voila...already blooming!

"Phew! I'm not going to try a flip like that again until I've lost at least a 1/4 #!"

Our new dog, Sophie, at first seems like lots of fun as she is so playful... then she doesn't seem to want to quit until she is exhausted! She is a Chihuahua/Terrier/whatever mix.  "

"Ok now I really have a neck and back ache...please don't make me do that again!!!"

  1. Hi Michael,

Welcome to the blogosphere! Congratulations on setting up your new blog, I look forward to following it & I know that Joan will too. It would be nice if you could include some pictures of the flowers, etc. If you need a hand with how to post pictures just let me know.

    Cheers,

    Paul

  2. Hey Paul,

I might take you up on your offer. Right now I have only taken a bit of time here and there towards the blog. I am taking my time to develope it as I get the urge to! I blame my Bruce for even having a blog at all! He just insisted he needed "followers" so that is why I created my blob...I mean blog in the first place...

    What-ever,

    Michael

  3. Hey, Mike - Then I've been taking false credit! I thought you were inspired by that link I sent of that gardener's blog in San Francisco. Here's another one to give you ideas!
    Love,
    Joan
